YMM Yamaha Music Starz Class 2.0 Campaign

Contest Mechanism:

Participate in our contest to stand a chance to win awesome prizes from Yamaha Music!

  • - Capture a 1-minute video of you or your ensemble of up to 3 people performing while using Yamaha Music instruments or equipment. Upload the video to social media and HASHTAG #YamahaMusicStarz2.

  • - Be in the running as one of the top 20 selected contestants and perform at Subang Parade Yamaha Music School for the Preliminary Round (The Audition).

  • - The top 10 participants will be decided during the Preliminary Round (The Audition), and the 10 selected finalists will proceed for the final round (The Finals).

  • - Perform on stage during the Finals at Yamaha Music Kelana Jaya showroom in front of the judges and stand a chance to win great prizes.

  • - Consolation prizes will be given to 7 finalists who did not win the top 3 winning contestants.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The Event / Eligibility

    • “Yamaha Music Starz Class 2.0 Contest” (“the Contest”) is organised by Yamaha Music (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“the Organiser”).

    • The Contest is open to all individual legal residents of Malaysia with a valid identification document, aged 4 years to 17 years old at the start of the Contest period (“the Participants”). The Organiser shall reserve the right to request evidence of identification documents. The following groups of persons shall not be eligible to participate in the Contest:

      • Employees of the Organiser and its group of companies and their immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings, and their spouses); and

      • Employees of the Organiser’s agencies associated with the contest and their immediate families (spouse, children, parents, siblings, and their spouses).

    • Participants below the age of 18 must have the consent of the parent or guardian before participating in this contest.

    • The Preliminary Contest will run from 0:00:00am on 15th June 2024 to 23:59:59pm on 31st August 2024 (“Contest Period”).

    • Participants must follow the steps of the Contest provided in the article below

    • Participants must follow and like our official social media pages (Facebook or Instagram).

    • Participants are required to be a member of Yamaha Music ID.

    • Participants are required to tag @YamahaMusicMalaysia and HASHTAG #YamahaMusicStarz2

    • The post must be set to “Public” to be eligible for judging criteria.

    • The video must be original, creative, and not exceed 60 seconds in length.

    • Only one entry per participant/ensemble is allowed.

  • Prize to be won

    • Grand Prize winner will be given:

      • 3 x Yamaha Music Highlight Concert

    • 1st Runner Up will be given

      • Yamaha Music Kelana Jaya Cash Voucher worth RM3,000.00

    • 2nd Runner Up will be given:

  • How to participate

    • Record and create a video of your musical performance. Instrument or equipment used must be of Yamaha music instrument or equipment.

      • Recorded video must have a clear visual of Yamaha Music instrument or equipment.

      • Music composition or arrangement can be played solo or in an ensemble of up to 3 people

      • Optional: Say out a few of your friends’ names to challenge other musician friends to join.

    • Post the video on your personal social media account (Facebook or Instagram) and tag:

      • @YamahaMusicMalaysia

      • HASHTAG #YamahaMusicStarz2

      • HASHTAG instruments used during the video recording performance.

    • Adjust your audience settings and set your post to “Public”.

    • Sign up as a Yamaha Music Malaysia Music ID member.

    • Wait for the announcement from Yamaha Music Malaysia for the top 20 preliminary contestants. Posts will be made on social media platforms. E.g., Facebook & Instagram.

    • If selected, participant will be invited to perform and compete during the preliminary round (The Audition) held at Subang Jaya Yamaha Music School on September 21st, 2024.

    • Once performed and confirmed to be selected as one of the top 20 preliminary contestants during the preliminary round (The Audition), the top 10 selected finalists of the preliminary round (The Audition) are to perform at the contest finals.

    • Yamaha Music Starz Class 2.0 finals will be held at Yamaha Music Kelana Jaya on October 19th, 2024.

  • Decision and Winners

    • Top 20 selected preliminary contestants submitted video will be selected based on creativity, originality of arrangement, and adherence to the contest theme by a panel of judges appointed by the Contest Organiser.

    • The top 20 selected preliminary round participants will be announced on our social media channels by 2nd September 2024.

    • All the winners will be notified via direct message on Facebook or Instagram.

    • The top 20 selected preliminary round contestants will need to perform at the stated closed event venue (The Audition) to determine if they are eligible for the event Finals.

    • During the Finals, members of the ensemble are not allowed to be switched. Roster of musician needs to be the same as during The Audition. The Organiser has the rights to disqualify those who do not adhere to these rules.

    • Winners of the Grand Prize, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up will be selected based on creativity, originality, and adherence to the contest theme by a panel of judges appointed by the Contest Organiser.

    • The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

    • The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to substitute the prizes with alternative prize or prizes at any time without prior notice. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for other products or for cash.

    • Acceptance of the prize shall constitute consent on the part of the winner to allow the use of the winner’s name, personal data, photo, contents, image, voice by the Organiser for editorial, advertising, promotional, marketing and/or other purpose without further compensation.

    • The Organiser will present the prize to the winners during the contest finals, which is held on 19th October 2024, at Yamaha Music Kelana Jaya. The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any negligence on the part of the Participants and or misinformation provided to the Organiser in claiming the Prize.

    • All participants and winners are fully responsible for all costs and expense of transportation, accommodation and or any other cost or expenses incurred in relation to their participation in the Contest.

    • By participating in the Contest, Participants are taken to have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Contest Terms & Conditions, and accept that all decisions by the Organiser are final and binding. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions without any prior notice.

    • These Terms and Conditions will prevail over any inconsistent terms, conditions, provisions, or representations contained in any other promotional materials advertising the Contest.

    • The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to loss of opportunities and any indirect or consequential losses) or personal injury suffered or sustained by any participant in connection with or arising from participation in the Contest.

    • The Terms and Conditions of the Contest shall be construed, governed, and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

  • Personal Data – Consent by Participants

    • By participating in the Contest and submitting to the Organiser photo, messages and personal information and or other information of the Participant as may be required by the Organiser for the Contest or purposes related to the Contest and by so providing the Organiser with the completed Personal Data, the Participant agree that the Organiser will collect, use and store the Participant’s Personal Data in accordance with the Organiser’s Privacy Policy as may be amended or updated from time to time.

    • The Organiser will only collect information from the Participant or about the Participant by lawful means that is necessary for one or more of the purposes and activities it was needed for, for processing of the Personal Data relating to the Contest, for updating of the Personal Data, for advertising and promotion and for any purpose as required by law and regulation except where the Participant’s consent to the Organiser using that Personal Data for another purpose, or where the other purpose is related to the main purpose and that the Participant would reasonably expect the Organiser to use the Personal Data for that other purpose.

    • The Organiser reserves the right to video, photograph, record and/or publish any of the Participants’ images, Personal Data, materials for any form of publicity relating to the Contest free from any cost.

    • By participating in the Contest, the Participants give consent to the Organiser, free from any cost or claim:

      • To use the Personal Data on internet, in videos, photographs, write-ups, record and/or publish the Participants’ images, personal data, materials for any form of publicity relating to the Contest or any other materials for the purpose of advertising and promotion in any form and media including the right to reproduce likeness or images; and

      • The Participants shall indemnify the Organiser absolutely from any claims or litigations whatsoever arising from the Organiser’ use of the Personal Data.
