Asian Beat Grand Final 2013

ROWDY GENTLEMEN KEPT MALAYSIAN FLAG FLYING HIGH in JAKARTA...

Congratulations to Rowdy Gentlemen for winning the Grand Prize of the Asian Beat Grand Finals in Jakarta, which saw 10 bands from 9 countries vying for the coveted Grand Prize.

Participating bands were from Indonesia (Host), Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Korea, Russia, Singapore and Malaysia. Band Leader (Guitarist & Vocalist) –Russell Curtis together with Joshua Ponnudorai (Guitarist), Kevin Adrian Theseira (Bassist) and Mark Avellino Valerio(Drummer) performed their winning song “Funky Freak” which brought the house down and the audience moving and grooving.

Besides bagging the Grand Prize, Joshua also bagged the “Best Guitarist Award” and Kevin the “Best Bassist Award”.

Rowdy Gentlemen was selected among 21 bands nationwide through our Yamaha Band Mentor 2013 program with the finals been held on 25th August 2013.  They were mentored under the mentorship of Yamaha endorsee Aubrey Suwito over a period of 4 weeks in preparation for the Asian Beat Grand Finals. Once again we wish them all the best in their journey and we look forward to their performance in our upcoming / future Yamaha events.
