Congratulations to Grand Prix Award winner, Roger Tang
Malaysia BOLEH! Yes, Malaysia did it again!
Roger Tang Chun Yean has made Yamaha Music (Malaysia) proud by winning the Grand Prix Award (ie highest award) at the Asia-Pacific Electone Festival (APEF) 2012 in Jakarta, Indonesia last Saturday.
It was indeed a joyous moment for all Malaysians and our Managing Director, Mr Mamoru Okazaki who attended this festival on the 8 September at the Grand Ballroom Djakarta Theatre XXI, Indonesia.
Roger managed to capture the hearts of the judges with his own composition entitled "Let's Take a Break". With this award, he will compete in the Yamaha Electone Concourse to be held in Tokyo, Japan on the 26 and 27 January 2013.
Roger Tang is currently pursuing his tertiary music education at Yamaha Academy of Arts & Music under the tutelage of Mr Pok Chee Hong. Yamaha Academy is proud in successfully nurturing yet another Electone star after our last Grand Prix winner at APEF 2009. Since then our Malaysian contestants have always been in the top three position at Asia Pacific level and have had the opportunity to compete at international levels of four consecutive years.
