Yamaha Corporation is thrilled to announce the 6th Yamaha International Highlight Concert, coming to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday, January 11, 2025! This exciting concert showcases the incredible talents of Yamaha Music School students from over 40 countries and regions around the globe.
The Yamaha International Highlight Concert celebrates students who have been immersed in Yamaha’s comprehensive music programs. The event will feature a vibrant mix of performances, including classical piano masterpieces, unique compositions by our young composers from the Junior Original Concert*1, and lively pop music renditions with singing, drumming, and more.
One of the concert’s highlights is an improvisation performance*2 where students, fueled by their creativity and musicality, will create an original piece from a short melody suggested by the audience! This embodies Yamaha Music School’s philosophy of “fostering creativity” in music education, showing the transformative power of musical expression.
Following the success of the last event in Jakarta, Indonesia, we’re excited to bring this inspiring experience to Kuala Lumpur. A video recording will be available on Yamaha Corporation's official YouTube channel in March 2025, allowing audiences worldwide to enjoy the talent and creativity of these remarkable young artists.

The Junior Original Concert (JOC) provides children aged 15 and below, who study at Yamaha Music School around the world, with the opportunity to compose pieces that express their feelings and perform them. Held in various locations around the world since 1972.
The philosophy of Yamaha Music School is "To foster the musical sensitivity that everyone is born with, to develop the ability to enjoy creating and playing the music of their own and ultimately share the joy of music with anyone." Yamaha Music Education
System is a systematic method to implement this philosophy. We are actively involved in training teachers, developing teaching materials, implementing a musical skill grading system (Yamaha Grade Examination System), and holding
concerts. In addition, we are promoting the popularization of music and educational activities while also working on the development of schools around the world as well as staff training.
Yamaha Music School first opened in Japan in 1954, followed by the first international location in Los Angeles, USA in 1964, and now over 450,000 students learn and experience the joy of music around the world. While harmonizing
with the unique cultures and nationalities of different countries, the joy of music is being spread.
